Performance evaluation of elemental and oxidised mercury generators on the market
The aim of this work package is to organise a performance evaluation to gather data on the characteristics of at least three Hg0 and three HgII gas generators on the market. Selected gas generator models for evaluation are representative examples of applicable generation methods and generators available on the market. Two generators that were developed in EMPIR 16ENV01 MercOx will be included. The evaluation work will take into account the corresponding preliminary certification protocols from WP1 and WP2 for Hg0 and HgII calibrators, and the collected results are used as an input to finalise the protocols in WP1 and WP2. Methods and good practices from EMRP ENV02 PartEmission, EMRP ENV51 MeTra, and, EMPIR 16ENV01 MercOx and WP1 and WP2 are used in the evaluation work to measure output of the generators.
The specific aims of each Task are:
Task 3.1 The aim of this task is to evaluate the performance and characteristics of at least three Hg0 generators available on the market to produce a report on the performance evaluation for the Hg0 gas generators used.

The aim of this task is to evaluate the performance and characteristics of at least three HgII generators available on the market to produce a report on the performance evaluation for the HgII gas generators used. The measurement methods based on dual analytical systems with established converter efficiency and HgII solution purity from Task 2.1 are applied for direct measurement of output concentration of the generators for HgII as well as possible residual Hg0.
